Outlook PST recovery - Step 3, Process the .pst file to recover messages

Once the processing of the Outlook.pst file is complete, three folders will display in the top left hand window of the results screen:

  • Incomplete Messages
  • Lost Folders
  • Personal Folders

Each of these folder can contain recovered messages.

Recover Email

1. Incomplete Messages

Incomplete Messages are recovered messages which are missing either the body or subject details of the message. The missing data cannot be recovered.

2. Lost Folders

Lost Folders are message folders which have been recovered but the original folder name has been destroyed. Recover My Email replaces these names with a number. Note that inside these folders, sub folder names and messages will be intact.

3. Personal Folders

Personal folders represent the existing folder structure of your PST file. The folder structure can be navigated to search for relevant messages.

Click on a folder in the top left hand window to display the messages it contains in the top right hand window.

Click on a message in the top right hand window to preview the content of the message in the bottom right hand window.
